WOMEN IN THE DRIVER’S SEAT TARGETED EVENTS CONNECT WOMEN WITH THE SHOW The New York Int’l Auto Show joined forces with She Buys Cars and Traveling Moms to host an event for 85 women bloggers and influencers before the Show opened to the public. The welcome reception and Twitter Party, sponsored by Toyota, included guest speakers, a fashion show from fashion label Project Gravitas and manicures using trending colors from Dior, style advice from Bernadette Vajda and an Oculus Rift Virtual Reality demonstration by Toyota. Attendees walked away with gift bags containing fashion and beauty products before touring the Show floor to view all the latest cars and trucks on display. Working with Hearst’s Good Housekeeping Magazine and five manufacturers, women attending the show were asked to photograph themselves in their favorite vehicles, say what they loved about it and post it on Twitter or Instagram for a chance to win $7,500 worth of designer handbags. With 723 entries and 6 blog posts, over 4 million impressions were generated by the program and 35 women received a handbag.
