AVOID THESE COMMON DMV ERRORS
Some simple practices andprocedureswill help you score 100%when theDMV reviews your store’s documentation. Here are issues and questions to consider:
• Plate surrenders should include a copy of a registration or at least the first three letters of the registrant’s name. • All vehicles bought or sold by the dealership must be entered into the book of registry (police book). The book’s entries must be in chronological order and all pages must be numbered and intact, i.e., no pages can be torn out. All information fields that do not apply must be completed with “N/A”. • Motor vehicle paperwork must be submitted to DMV within five calendar days. • Insurance cards must be effective on the date that the temporary registration is issued or no more than 180 days prior. • License plates must be used in sequential order with no exceptions. If you need help with the title and registration process, call Raj Budhu or Jean Marie Rugg at 718.747.0400.
