ADA PLAINTIFFS TARGET DEALERSHIP WEBSITES

GNYADA has learned that an Association member recently received a letter from a plaintiff claiming that the dealership’s website is not accessible for users with disabilities. Website accessibility lawsuits are a rapidly growing trend, hitting major retailers, entertainment venues, sports teams, and now car dealers. According to NADA, website accessibility lawsuits against dealers have increased nearly 30% since 2017. These lawsuits allege that dealers, like other retailers, are violating the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) because their websites are not accessible to users who need screen readers and other assistive technology.
