NEW YORK STATE VOTING LEAVE

Effective April 1, 2019, all employees in New York State are permitted to take up to 3 hours of paid time off to vote in any election. • Dealers may require the time be taken at the beginning or end of a shift. • Employees must notify the dealership of their need to take time off to vote at least 2 working days in advance.

Dealers must post notice of the voting leave law at least 10 days before any election. Dealers may remove the notice once the polls close on Election Day.
