MINIMUM WAGE IN NEW YORK STATE

The State continued its phase-in of minimum wage increases across the State. New York State’s minimum wage in 2021 is $12.50 per hour outside the metropolitan area. Long Island and Westchester counties have reached a minimum wage of $14 per hour.

The minimum wage rates in Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester Counties are in synch. For 2021, the minimum wage in these counties is $14.00 per hour. Employees in these counties have seen scheduled increases of $1.00 per hour each year since 2016. On December 31, 2021, the minimum wage in all three counties will increase to $15.00 per hour, the maximum planned in six-year phase-in.
